Unexpected good evening

The famous Sydney Tower has a deck that allows you to see all of Sydney... while enjoying food and wine. I guess there was a good deal where if you went and spent $20 at the bar, the trip up the tower would be free. In any case, two friends would also be in the city at the Sydney Opera House watching Lord of the Rings, Two Towers being played while the symphony played the soundtrack to it. Sounds amazing, I know, but $50 for standing "seats". :( So we figured we'd just meet them there for drinks after the show.

Got dressed up and everything! Thanks Philippa! :D

Arrived, met up with the boys, and got to the tower. TURNS OUT... they were taking the weekend to do carpet maintenance, and we should "just come back tomorrow." -____- So we just ended up walking around Darling Harbor and exploring.

Note about my granny jacket. I had no alternative besides my zip up jackets. :( I wonder if I should go buy a blazer or something.

Ended up going to a bar and I REALIZE... I forgot to bring my ID... for the FIFTH TIME. Why am I forgetful? Any ID? Student ID or anything? Nope, just me, my phone, keys, and camera. And a couple bucks.

So the manager comes out to see what all the sobbing is about and it's this young-ish bloke. This is how our conversation went:

Me: This is so sad, I'm the oldest one here! I'm 21 and old enough to drink in the states! T_T
Him: Where are you from?
Me: California.
Him: So are you telling me that you smoked so much pot that you forgot to bring your ID with you?
Me: WHAT?! No, no, absolutely no.
Him: OOHH WRONG ANSWER. Sorry, you gotta leave.
Me: O________O............
Him: LOL just kidding, what can I getcha.

So we proceeded to order beers and wines. The Olympics were on the TVs there, so we watched swimming. (Aussies really don't show ANYTHING ELSE... I guess it's the only sport they sort of have a chance with.)

This is just a cute thing we found in the girls' bathroom. (The survival kit contains bobby pins, safety pins, etc...)

=

So overall, the night was pretty good! :) We agreed that we'd come back either on a nice clear sunny afternoon or at night again, and in that trip we'd wear the exact clothes we wore this time so that it would seem like a flawless night to those who don't know. :D
